Australia's Scenic Cruises is plotting a new series of cruiseships at Croatia's restructuring Uljanik Shipyard.
DIV, the owners of the compatriot shipbuilder Brodosplit that is Uljanik's new strategic investor, signed a letter of intent with Scenic on Monday, Total Croatia News reported.
Detailed work has begun on designing a new series of "several" luxury vessels, Uljanik said.
Scenic president Glen Moroney said that he believed the shipyard's financial struggles would now end.
The company already has two cruiseships on order at Uljanik.
Construction work on the second, Scenic Eclipse 2, will start as soon as the restructuring programme for Uljanik is approved.
Brodosplit will pump more money into the company in return for a stake.
The yard has been hit by order cancellations and strikes as liquidity proved a problem in recent months.
