A cruiseship owned by the Church of Scientology has been quarantined in the Caribbean after a case of measles was found on board.
The Washington Post cited authorities in St Lucia as saying a case had been detected.
A sergeant with the St Lucia Coast Guard told NBC that the vessel is the 9,800-gt Freewinds (built 1968).
Merlene Fredericks James, St Lucia's chief medical officer, told media that the vessel was locked down on Tuesday.
"No one was allowed to leave the ship," Fredericks James said in a statement.
"Because of the risk of potential infection, not just from the confirmed measles case but from other persons who may be on the boat at the time, we thought it prudent to make a decision not to allow anyone to disembark."
Nearly 300 passengers are on the vessel. NBC said the confirmed case involved a female crew member.
The Church of Scientology has not responded to requests for comment.
