The American Club has appointed Dan Tadros as its chief legal officer.
Shipowners Claims Bureau, the company that manages the protection and indemnity club, announced the move Thursday afternoon. Tadros will join 1 July and work in New York.
"Those in the industry who have had the pleasure of knowing Dan Tadros over the years will already be familiar with those high standards of professionalism which have characterized his carer as a lawyer in private practice," said claims bureau chief executive Joe Hughes.
"Those who will come to know Dan over the years ahead in his new role will no doubt be equally impressed by the application of his expertise to the work of P&I management."
Tadros joins from New Orleans' Chaffe McCall, where he is a partner.
Last year, the company expanded its c-suite, adding four new roles.
The moves saw Dorothea Ionnou join as chief commercial officer, Arpad Kadi as chief financial officer, Philip Clancey as chief actuary, Marish Beri in a dual role as chief information officer and chief security officer.
It also made several hires for a Greek office in March.
There have been departures, as well. In May, the American Club's fixed premium venture, Eagle Ocean Marine, lost several employees to North P&I as that club looks to expand in a similar space.
Hughes told TradeWinds the departures did not affect operations.
