F. Humera Ahmed is joining the Liberian International Ship & Corporate Registry (LISCR) as vice president of legal and business development.
Ahmed was previously an attorney at Blank Rome where she worked on both maritime and financial cases.
"Humera is a very energetic, self-confident, knowledgeable and proactive person," said registry operations chief Alfonso Castillero.
"Her enthusiastic personality and legal/shipping background will significantly benefit and strengthen the presence of LISCR in the New York and Connecticut markets."
Ahmed will be based in New York.
"I am thrilled to be joining the Liberian Registry, which has consistently been one of the most reputable ship and corporate registries in the world for more than 70 years," she said in a statement.
