The International Maritime Bureau (IMB) said armed men boarded and hijacked a products tanker underway eight nautical miles southwest of Pu Aur, Malaysia.

TradeWinds understands the hijacked vessel is the 7,119-dwt Orkim Victory (built 2009), owned by domestic company Orkim Ship Management.

IMB said the pirates altered the course of the vessel and then met another ship on their way, stealing part of its oil cargo.

Before departing, they also took away all ship property and destroyed the communication equipment.

According to the IMB, all crew on Orkim Victory are unharmed and the tanker has now reached a safe port.
