The master, chief officer, chief engineer, second engineer and third engineer were kidnapped, along with cash, from the Maersk-chartered 2,578–teu City of Xiamen (built 2008) on 26 April.
They were freed on Saturday.
The owner said the four Poles and a Russian had been looked after bycompany representatives in Nigeria and underwent medical check-ups.
“Despite difficult conditions while in captivity, they are in good health,” the company said.
They have already returned to their own countries and been reunited withtheir families.
“This news comes as an immense relief to all Sunship employees who share thejoy of the families," the owner added.
It is not clear whether a ransom was paid. The company is not commentingfurther.
Four crew remain as hostages in the areafrom the 1,740-teu Hansa Marburg (built 2007), which was attacked shortly before City of Xiamen.
