The raids in April have only now come tolight as the ReCAAP piracy reporting centre issued its latest report.

The 2,100-dwt asphalt carrier AD Phoenix (built2002) was north-east of Pulau Bintan, Indonesia, on 23 April when five piratesarmed with pistols and long knives boarded the vessel from a high speed woodencraft.

A day later, an unknown number of gunmenboarded the 3,200-dwt products tanker Nadiya Melisende (built 1994) from a similarcraft in the same area.

AD Phoenix is operated by Reta Link of Singapore and NadiyaMelisende by Skips Marine Services of Singapore.
