Chinese authorities have said two seafarers were killed in a cargoship fire in Zhejiang Province.
The blaze began in the accommodation block of the 5,200-dwt Sheng Tai (built 1997) on Monday, the Shanghai Maritime Rescue Centre said, according to the Eastday website.
Four rescue boats including a tug were sent to the area to help the 17 crew.
Two seafarers lost consciousness while the rest were evacuated to the main deck. The two later died.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Sheng Tai is listed as managed by Shanghai Changjiang Shipping.
