Eva Birgitte Bisgaard is moving on from Maersk Tankers after roughly two and a half years as chief commercial officer.

The Danish pool operator said Bisgaard, a Norwegian, was stepping down and that the move was effective immediately.

“Under Eva Birgitte’s leadership, partners’ satisfaction with our services increased significantly. In particular, in a disrupted tanker market, we have maintained close dialogue with partners and launched new digital solutions to boost their vessels’ environmental and economic performance,” said chief executive Christian Ingerslev.

“I would like to thank Eva Birgitte for her contribution and for bringing in a new perspective from the tech industry.”

The company said Ingerslev would take over responsibility for its sales and services “as it continues its strategy of boosting partner services and generating growth”.

Bisgaard joined Maersk Tankers in October 2020 from telecommunications firm TDC and said she intended to help develop digital tools to help with environmental and operational challenges.

She spent three years at the company after joining from YouSee where she was the consumer unit’s senior vice president having also worked in its business-to-business divisions and on digital solutions.

During her tenure at Maersk Tankers, Bisgaard reshuffled the company’s operations unit by making all chartering regardless of ship type the responsibility of one employee.

Bisgaard also welcomed increasing Greek tonnage into Maersk Tankers’ pools and saw the company grab an SK Energy MR.
