Janholt’s Oaktree cohorts will be Par Goran Trapp and Christopher Helmut Boehringer, who will be the new chairman, a statement said.
Janholt is also a director of Pioneer Marine and United Shipping & Trading Company among other positions since leaving Lauritzen.
Boehringer, who was Oaktree’s point man on a number of sale and purchase deals with Torm, will take over from Flemming Ipsen on 25 August, TradeWinds is told.
Minority investors have put forward David Neil Weinstein as a contender for deputy chairman along with Jeffrey Stein and Eugene Irwin Davis.
The changes come following the completion of a takeover by Oakree that ended years of financial uncertainty at Torm.
Outgoing chairman Ipsen told TradeWinds after the Oaktree deal was sealed in July: “Now, from a financial point of view, it will have the flexibility that has been missing for the past years where you have had handcuffs on all hands and arms, put on by various lenders for good reasons but making life difficult in optimising your day-to-day business. That should now be a thing of the past.”
The deal has given Torm a fleet of 74 vessels and set it on course for a profit of between $70m and $110 this year.
