All nine crew kidnapped from an Oceangold Tankers ships last month off Benin have been released.
The Greek owner told TradeWinds it was "very pleased" to confirm that the seafarers were freed on Friday.
It gave no further details of how this was achieved, but added: "All of them are well and safe.
"The families have been informed but this is a sensitive time and no further details will be given."
The gunmen struck the 74,000-dwt Alpine Penelope (built 2008) on 20 February.
There were reportedly 24 crew on board at the time.
Two armed men were seen on board as it headed to Lagos in Nigeria.
The vessel was underway at 13.4 knots at the time.
It is understood an alert was sent by the tanker, after which communications were lost.
The incident was among those highlighting the continuing risk to crews and vessels in the region.
A pirate group struck three times off Nigeria on Thursday, boarding two ships. One Filipino has been reported missing following those raids.
