Ongoing cash flow problems at NewLead Holdings have led to two more of its bitumen tankers being arrested in Greece, a NewLead representative confirmed.

The 3,300-dwt Katerina L (built 2009) was arrested by the National Bank of Greece (NBG), which has a first priority mortgage on the vessel. The vessel has been in Piraeus port for three weeks where it was detained by the Greek Coast Guard after an inspection.

The 14 seafarers aboard the vessel are being repatriated this weekend. A court hearing on the vessel is scheduled for 2 December.

The 3,400-dwt Nepheli (built 2009) was arrested in Piraeus by a "local supplier" over an unpaid bill for EUR 35,000. The name of the arrestor was not immediately available.
