The cruise giant yesterday took its Chinese presence to six ships as the 2,700-berth Costa Fortuna (Built 2003) and the 2,600-berth Golden Princess (built 2001) were switched to the east from 2016.
Robin Farley, an analyst tracking Carnival for UBS, said: “With now six ships in China for CCL we believe that could go to 12-15 ships in the next five years.
“China today generates higher yield and higher operating income per cruise day than corporate average for CCL.”
Farley has previously predicted China will become a major force in the cruise market.
Carnival said yesterday its Asian business continually delivers double-digit annual returns.
