Li Ka-shing’s Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) has announced a management overhaul with the appointment of a new chief executive.
Current incumbent Yim Lui Fai is set to retire from HPH’s trustee manager on 13 July 2019 and will be replaced by Lam Hing Man.
The new CEO is currently the managing director of Yantian International Container Terminals, Yantian International Container Terminals (Phase III) and Shenzhen Yantian West Port Terminals.
“The board of the trustee-manager wishes to express its sincere gratitude to Yim for his valuable contribution to HPH Trust during his tenure as the CEO,” HPH Trust said in a statement.
Lam, 62, who boasts a master’s degree in international shipping and transport logistics is said to have been appointed to the post due to his “experience, qualification and suitability”.
HPH Trust owns interests in deep-water container port located in two of the world’s busiest container port cities by throughput – Kwai Tsing in Hong Kong and Shenzhen in China.
Other assets in the HPH Trust portfolio include the port in China’s Huizhou as well as certain port ancillary services and the economic benefits of river ports complementary to the deep-water container ports operated by HPH Trust.
