The Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore has revealed a series of shipping restrictions as the country steps up security ahead of the historic meeting between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un.

The 12 June summit between the US and North Korean leaders will take place at a hotel on the Singaporean island of Sentosa, the White House confirmed this week.

MPA said vessels cannot transit, anchor or remain in areas including Sisters Fairway, Western Anchorage, Buran Channel, Selat Sengkir, Keppel Harbour and Cruise Bay.

Most restrictions are in place between 10 June and 13 June.

They apply off the Sentosa coast from 12 June to 13 June, while "no vessels, except for approved regional ferries bound to and from the HarbourFront Regional Ferry Terminal, are allowed to transit the Sisters Fairway and part of Western Anchorage during this period," port master Kevin Wong said.
