Marius Hermansen has stepped down from the boards of Golden Ocean Group and Flex LNG, just over a week after announcing his resignation from John Fredriksen's private company Seatankers Management.

His departure from the two Fredriksen-backed shipping companies is effective immediately, TradeWinds understands.

Bjorn Tore Larsen, the current chairman of ship-management giant OSM Maritime Group, will replace Hermansen on the board of bulker owner Golden Ocean.

OSM took over SeaTeam — the Fredriksen group's ship-management organisation — in October 2020 from Golden Ocean and Frontline.

Steen Jacobsen, chief investment officer of Saxo Bank, will replace Hermansen on the board of gas shipowner Flex LNG.

Larsen also chairs ADS Maritime Holdings, a shipping investment company that until December was known as ADS Crude Carriers but no longer owns any vessels.

On Monday, it was announced that John Fredriksen's SFL Corp has sold its 17.2% stake in the former VLCC owner to Larsen's private company, ADS Shipping.

Jacobsen has worked for the Danish investment bank since 2000 and founded its annual "Outrageous Predictions" report.

When he resigned from Seatankers earlier this month, Hermansen told TradeWinds that he would step down from his other board appointments including Avance Gas, of which he has been chairman since 2017.

Avance Gas has not yet issued news of his departure from the board at the time of writing.

Hermansen has served as a director of Golden Ocean since September 2019 and of Flex LNG since December 2015.

He told TradeWinds that he will likely stay within the offshore, shipping and energy sectors, which he said are his main fields, but did not disclose what he plans to do next.
