Njord Shipping has sold two of its handysize bulkers, though the buyers remain a mystery.

The Oslo-based outfit moved on from the 36,900-dwt sister ships Voge Emma and Voge Mia (both built 2011) for $30.6m combined, chief executive Henrik Ness confirmed to TradeWinds on Thursday.

Ness, though, declined to name a buyer.

Broker reports suggest the buyer is European, possibly Greek or Turkish.

The Voge Mia has been renamed Lynx under the registered ownership of Marshall Islands-based Lynx Maritime.

Ness said the Voge Emma would be delivered in a few months’ time.

According to VesselsValue, the buyer got the pair at a slight discount: the Voge Mia is valued at $16.2m and the Voge Emma at $16.1m.

It was the third sale for Njord Shipping this year. VesselsValue listed the 34,600-dwt Nordic Nanjing (built 2013) sold to Nordic Hamburg Shipping in June for $15.6m.

The company has largely been focused on selling over the past two years, moving seven ships out of its fleet since April 2022.

It lists 18 ships in its fleet — sans the Voge Mia and Voge Emma — with six handysizes remaining.

It also has three supramaxes, six multipurpose vessels and three tankers.

Njord Shipping, set up in 2016, is 75% owned by Glastad Holdings as the disponent owner, lead investor and commercial manager of its ships.

It has dabbled in several sectors, owning an LR1 tanker and a container ship in the past, though it appears to have divested both.
