Polaris Shipping has sold another large bulker for scrap.
Demolition brokers said the South Korean company has sold the 242,000-dwt Stellar Neptune (built 1993) "as is" in Labuan, Malaysia. The ship has fetched $422 per ldt, or $16.9m.
Bunkers are understood to be included for its voyage to its final destination.
Polaris bought the vessel in 2012 from Vale for an undisclosed price.
The shipowner does not comment on commercial matters.
This is the second ore carrier that Polaris has sold for demolition this month after the sale of the 298,300-dwt Stellar Magic (built 1994).
It has now sold 13 VLOCs for recycling this year.
