Japan’s Tamai Steamship has posted revenue of ¥4.14bn ($485.9m) in its cumulative quarterly consolidated earnings for the nine months to 31 December, 2018.

The result is a 10% increase on the ¥3,763m in earnings posted in the same period 12 months previously.

The Tokyo-based bulk carrier owner forecasts its full-year earnings will be ¥5.4bn.

If achieved, this would be a 7.8% rise on the ¥5.01bn in revenue brought in during the fiscal year 2017-18.

Tamai also forecasts it will this year distribute a dividend of ¥40, the first time it has done so since 2016.

Income per share rose during the nine-month period to ¥106.33 from negative ¥43.86 in the year previous.

The MOL Group company forecasts income per share for the full year will be ¥455.84, compared to negative ¥0.55 in the previous financial year.
