An Indian court has ordered the public auction of a veteran bulk carrier which was arrested last October.

Companies interested in offering for the 34,800-dwt Infinity (built 1985), owned by Turkey’s Glamour Maritime, will have until 19 April to submit their offers.

Infinity is facing legal action from four creditors .

As TradeWinds has reported, UK cash buyer NKD Maritime is seeking to recover $1m from Glamour , while ING claims the ship owner owes around $93,000 to OW Bunker (UK).

The ship has ran aground twice since September and has no technical crewmembers onboard.

Its insurance expired on 6 April and all insurance companies have declined to cover the risk of the ship.

Sale proceeds from the public auction will be used in the suit pending the hearing of the four different cases against Glamour.
