Diana Shipping is set to make a few million more dollars off one of its post-panamaxes following a contract extension.
Uniper Global Commodities has added at least another 11 months to its contract for the 87,150 dwt Electra (built 2013).
Diana Shipping expects to make at least another $4.4m off the prolonged deal.
The charter extension, priced at $13,500 per day, began 19 October and will remain in effect into next year from at least 15 September and possibly through 15 December.
The current average one-year timecharter rate for an 82,000-dwt bulk carrier is $15,200, according to Clarksons.
The vessel was previously chartered at $8,000 per day to Uniper for a charter that began in mid-June 2017.
