Diana Shipping has gotten a slightly higher rate on one of its capesizes in another fix to SwissMarine Services.
The Simeon Palios-led company has chartered the 179,492-dwt G.P Zafarikas (built 2014) at $17,000 per day for 17 to 20 months.
The fix, set to begin 2 January, is expected to make $8.67 million in revenue for the minimum scheduled period.
The ship is currently employed to, as previously announced, RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, Essen, Germany, at $15,000 per day.
Capesizes in the 170,000-dwt range are fetching one-year charter rates of $16,500 per day on average, according to Clarksons.
Diana Shipping has four other capesizes chartered to SwissMarine, the latest being the 179,362-dwt Seattle (built 2011) for up to 19 months, Clarksons shows.
