Diana Shipping has extended its run of time charters in an improving dry cargo market.
New York-listed Diana has entered into a contract for the 74,381-dwt Coronis (built 2006) with CJ International Italy Societa Per Azioni.
Diana will earn $8,300 per day for the first 60 days and $11,300 per day for the balance period.
The charter is expected to generate revenue of at least $3.89m.
Coronis was previously fixed out to Narina Maritime at $9,000 per day.
According to the Baltic Exchange, panamax spot rates sat at $11,594 per day on Thursday.
The deal is the latest example of Diana fixing out bulkers on improved terms this year, a trend which helped the company snap a long losing run in the second quarter.
Diana has a fleet of 50 dry bulk vessels with an average age of 8.98 years.
