An Indian court has ordered the public re-auction of a veteran bulker which was arrested last October.

The Glamour Maritime-owned 34,800-dwt Infinity (built 1985) will go under the hammer again on 27 June, as a previous auction in April proved to be unsuccessful.

Gujarat’s high court has ordered Infinity to be sold at a price no less than around $1.86m.

The bulker is facing legal action from four creditors and, as TradeWinds has reported, the claims against Glamour have piled up and have reached more than $5m.

UK cash buyer NKD Maritime is seeking to recover $1m from the Turkish owner, while ING claim Glamour owes around $93,000 to OW Bunker (UK).

The Liberian registry and Turkish manager Makro Denizcilik have also lodged claims against the vessel.

According to court documents, NKD saw its objection rejected by the judge.

Infinity is currently grounded at Dandi, Valsad Coast, Gujarat.

It has run aground twice since last September and has no technical crew onboard.

Insurance companies have declined to cover the ship’s risk after its insurance expired on 6 April.

Net proceeds from the auction will be used in the suit pending the hearing of the four different cases against Glamour.
