Norway's Torvald Klaveness has appointed DNV GL executive Ernst Andre Meyer as its new COO.

He will join on 1 May from the class society, where he is vice president for offshore.

Meyer replaces Bent Martini, who is leaving by the end of March to become COO at domestic cruiseferry company Hurtigruten.

The new COO will oversee Klaveness Ship Management, which manages the fleet of combination carriers and container vessels; newbuilding programmes and contract negotiations with shipyards; and the commercial operations of all vessels operated within Torvald Klaveness.

“I am very happy to have Ernst Meyer joining the team,” said CEO Lasse Kristoffersen.

“His combination of deep technical and operational background, strong leadership credentials and extensive international experience makes him perfect for this job.”
