The Spliethoff Group continues to raid Hansa Heavy Lift.
This time, the Dutch company made a sweep for five more MPP tween deck vessels from the bankrupt German shipowner.
The deal includes the 20,100-dwt Pieterscracht (built 2012), formerly known as the HHL Kobe, and four 19,450-dwt ships, the former HHL Lagos (built 2011), HHL Fremantle (built 2011), HHL Richards Bay (built 2010) and HHL Tokyo (built 2010).
The ships will be renamed the Pijlgracht, Poolgracht, Pauwgracht and Paleisgracht, respectively.
The financial details were not disclosed, however VesselsValue estimates the ships are worth $66.5m total.
The ships will be reflagged as Dutch.
The move follows on a January deal for five other MPPs. The buy brings Spliethoff's fleet to 70 MPPs.
