Peter Dohle has teamed up with Sirius Ship Management for the training of Filipino seafarers in Manila.
The two companies have started a new alliance that will develop the existing maritime centre of Peter Dohle in the country.
Roy Machart, general manager of Peter Dohle, said: “This cooperation is very exciting, starting from the determination to manage the market and not be managed by it, to go over the present crisis period that the shipping sector is experiencing, like many others.
“It is not a secret that skilled and trained crew, grown up inside the Company with the sense of Company belonging are the real key of a successful management of the vessels.”
Genoa-based Sirius has seafarer training offices in India and Philippines.
Filippo Guadagna, chief executive of Sirius, said: “The two companies together will build the career paths of their officers, contributing to their professional growth, their integration with the European culture, making them feel members of a 'European' family working in an international environment and not temporary guests in a global market where the economic offer wins but does not last.”
