The Hong Kong and Shanghai-listed arm of China Shipping swungto a CNY 52m ($8.3m) profit, reversing a CNY 484m loss in the first threemonths of 2013.

The figure is at the lower end of the CNY 50m to CNY 60m range it predicted earlier this month.

Revenue increased by over 20% to CNY 3.2bn from CNY 2.63bn,the company said in a statement.

The tanker and bulker owner expects to card a profit for thefirst half year though it did not put a figure on it.

It made a net loss of CNY 949m in the six months to 30 June2013.
