Filipino seafarers have sent home a record amount of money from their wages.
The Manila Standard reported that $6.14bn flowed back to families through the banking system last year.
This was up 4% from 2017.
The amount does not include cash paid outside the banking system or physically brought home by seafarers.
The top source of transfers is from those working in the US at $2.31bn, followed by Singapore with $564m and Germany on $561m.
Demand for Filipino crews is said to be rising in tandem with market recoveries.
