Golden Ocean Group now holds 770,000 of its own shares.
The Oslo- and New York-traded bulker owner announced Monday that it had bought back 25,000 shares at $5.50 (NOK 49.31) from the Oslo Stock Exchange.
It was the first buyback since late June, when Golden Ocean repurchased 50,000 shares at $5.01.
The company announced its share buyback program 20 December, 2018, immediately repurchasing 170,000 at $5.62. By year's end, Golden Ocean owned 445,000 of its own shares.
Since, the company has dipped into the market just seven times.
According to the buyback plan, Golden Ocean can buy up to 6 million shares. Prices cannot exceed $9, or the equivalent in NOK, per share.
The plan expires 20 December 2019.
