The deal, which also involved RS Platou Finans,was for the 50,700-dwt open hatch general cargo carrier Star Lygra (built2013).

“This transaction representsour first financing through a bareboat charter and reflects our ability tostructure a tailored financing solution that affords Grieg Star purchaseoptions and increased capital flexibility.”
TheStar Lygra was built at South Korea’s Hyundai Mipo Dockyards andis part of a series of 10 L-class vessels.
The ship, which has ninecargo holds, is 670 ft long and has a beam of 105 ft. It is equipped with fourcranes with power swivel for cargo handling.
“This customized transactioncomplements our existing portfolio of more than 30 owned ships,” said GriegStar chief executive Camilla Grieg.
Grieg Star Group is thesecond largest open hatch general cargo carrier owner in the world. It alsooperates a fleet of conventional bulkers.
