A Texas investment firm and two related parties have taken a collective 5.9% stake in Tidewater.
According to Securities and Exchange Commission filings made Thursday, Renegade Swish owns 2.1 million shares in the offshore player.
The firm's two affiliated parties, Captain Q and Q Global Management own 360,946 and 1.7 million shares, respectively.
According to the filing, Renegade Swish is the sole manager of Q Global Advisors, which is the sole general partner of Q Global Management and Captain Q.
The buy is enough to make Renegade Swish Tidewater's fifth biggest shareholder, roughly 200,000 shares behind T Rowe Price and 300,000 behind Raging Capital Management, Tidewater's largest shareholder.
Captain Q had previously been a major shareholder in GulfMark, which completed a $1.25bn merger with Tidewater last fall, owning as much as 16.2% of the company, per regulatory filings.
