Norway's Awilco LNG has won an eight-month charter for one of its two LNG carriers.

The company said the 156,000-cbm TFDE ship WilPride (built 2013) has been committed to an oil and gas major from July.

This is contingent upon customary vessel inspection and acceptance by the charterer, it added.

The deal should contribute annualised Ebitda of about $23m during the period.

In December, Awilco said the ship was heading to drydock for 20 days at a cost of $3.3m.

It was due back in the spot market in early December after the owner scrapped upgrades to reduce boil-off in order to avoid additional off-hire.

This week, the company said its other ship, the 156,000-cbm WilForce (built 2013), was damaged in a collision with another vessel off Singapore.

It was due to dock in a Singapore yard for hull repairs.
