A fresh deal signed between Flex LNG and NextDecade Global Solutions will mark the reunion of two LNG veteran specialists.
NextDecade’s Kathleen Eisbrenner and newly appointed Flex LNG boss Jonathan Cook will join their forces over a new project in the US.
The two companies have signed a heads of agreement (HOA) to create a full value chain solution for customers looking to purchase LNG from NextDecade’s Rio Grande LNG export project in Brownsville.
Eisbrenner, who founded Excelerate Energy in 2003, said: “Global interest for NextDecade’s US-produced LNG has demonstrated a need for additional and flexible import solutions worldwide.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Flex LNG to bring these options to support our customers.”
According to the HOA, NextDecade and Flex LNG will develop floating, storage and regasification (FSRU) and dockside solutions.
NextDecade will provide the LNG supply while Flex LNG is actively developing FSRU solutions, including three newbuildings under construction.
Eisbrenner has bounced back into the sector with 2010-founded NextDecade, which is working on two land-based US projects.
Cook has held the chief marketing officer position at TMS Cardiff Gas and has also worked at Eisbrenner’s side at Excelerate Energy.
