Flex LNG has poached TMS Cardiff Gas’s chief marketing officer to lead the company’s operations.
The John Fredriksen-controlled company has named LNG veteran Jonathan Cook as its new chief executive.
Cook was a founding partner at Excelerate Energy in 2003 where he stayed for nearly 10 years before joining Christos Economou-led TMS Cardiff Gas.
Cook said: “Flex LNG has a history of innovation and is extremely well-positioned with its MEGI LNG carriers set for delivery in 2018.
“The delivery of these vessels coincides with new LNG production coming to the market and increasing demand for state-of-the-art fuel efficient vessels.
“I look forward to working with the management team and shareholders of Flex LNG to leverage its market position and develop the company’s full potential in the rapidly evolving LNG industry.”
Flex LNG said Cook’s main duty will be to lead the corporate and business development activities of the company, including bringing its three newbuildings into full operation.
Cook, who has spent 11 years at sea and achieved the rank of master mariner, will start at this new role during the fourth quarter.
