Hanwha Ocean has secured a KRW 333bn ($240m) order for two VLGC newbuildings.
The South Korean shipbuilder announced on Monday that an Asia-based company had ordered the pair.
It did not disclose the name of the buyer but said the ships will be delivered by the end of 2027.
Shipbuilding sources said Mitsui OSK Lines is behind the order.
News of MOL planning to order VLGCs was first reported in TradeWinds last week.
Earlier today, the Japanese giant was named as the owner behind a pair of VLGCs at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries.
Hanwha Ocean said it has secured orders for 42 vessels worth about $8.15bn so far this year: 19 LNG carriers and floating storage and regasification units, seven VLCCs, six container ships, five LPG and ammonia carriers, one offshore plant and four special-purpose ships.
