Naftomar Shipping & Trading is selling one of its three VLGCs for demolition.

The Greek shipowner has sold the 77,000-cbm Gaz Unity (built 1982) "as is" in the United Arab Emirates for $435 per ldt or $9.3m, some demolition sources said.

Brokers believe the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries-built ship is bound for recycling in India, where prices were on the rise this week.

Naftomar purchased the LPG carrier from Japan’s NYK Line in April 2003 as Lily Pacific for just $9m.

The Gaz Unity is the oldest ship in Naftomar's fleet of 20 gas ships.

Executives of the Athens-based company were not immediately available because of festivities for Posidonia 2018.
