The 20,800-cbm Navigator Leo (built 2011) was in transit to the Russian port of Ust-Luga to load last night when a fire broke out in the provisions storehouse, according to a message sent from the ship's master.
A spokesperson for the ship's technical manager, Glasgow-based Northern Marine, said the fire was put out about 10 minutes after it broke out. The ship was inspected by Russian port state control, released to complete its loading and transited to Antwerp Friday morning.
