RWE has sign a mid-term LNG supply deal with Aussie gas giant Woodside, the German energy powerhouse confirmed in a statement.
Under the deal deliveries will run from the fourth quarter of 2020 to December 2022 and will be sold under the FOB basis.
Woodside said the LNG would be sourced from volumes it has contracted from the Corpus Christi LNG Project in Texas in the US, without disclosing the size of the volumes.
This is the second such LNG supply deal between Woodside and RWE’s trading arm, RWE Supply & Trading GmbH.
Last year Woodside agreed last year to deliver up to 12 cargoes of LNG between April 2018 and March 2020 to the German utility.
“We are pleased to sign another mid-term LNG supply deal with RWE, one of Europe’s leading energy companies,” said Reinhardt Matisons, executive vice-president of marketing trading & shipping for Woodside Energy.
“This new agreement builds on existing mid-term sale arrangements commenced in 2017and illustrates the growing business relationship between our companies.
“It is also a further demonstration of the diversification of our transaction activity across both the Asia-Pacific and Atlantic LNG markets.”
Andree Stracke, RWE’s chief commercial officer for supply and trading, said the deal “represents another key building block in the further development of RWE's flexible LNG portfolio.”
