In the Nasdaq-quoted owner’s fourth-quarter earnings report it said the 5,000-cbm Gas Prodigy (built 2013) was fixed to a “national energy company” for five months.
The operator also noted that the duration of charters involving two of its newbuildings, the Eco Dream and Eco Green, was revised and now stands at five years.
Previously, StealthGas indicated that the fixtures, which are scheduled to commence when the 5,000-dwt units hit the water in the second-half of 2015, were going to end after two.
In addition, the operator pointed out that it recently lined up a bareboat charter for the 115,000-dwt crude carrier Spike (built 2010).
While the owner failed to shed light on the counterparty or day rate it said the vessel was chartered to a “tanker operator” until August of 2020.
TradeWinds has previously reported Bergshav to have taken Spike.
According to Charles Rupinski, an analyst at Global Hunter Securities, aframaxes are currently commanding $23,000 per day on average in the period market.
In a briefing issued last week StealthGas said LPG carriers with carrying capacities of 6,500-cbm were seeing monthly rates of around $435,000.
At the time the owner, which is led by chief executive Harry Vafias, pointed out that the average for 3,200-cbm vessels stood at approximately $285,000 per month.
