The Federal Maritime Commission swore in two new commissioners this week.

Louis Sola and Daniel Maffei formally joined the US regulatory body for international shipping Monday. Sola will serve until 2023 and Maffei until 2022.

The two join acting chairman Michael Khouri and commissioner Rebecca Dye on the board.

Sola, a licensed international shipbroker, previously served on the Florida Board of Pilots Commissioners.

Maffei had previously served as a commissioner and a two-term congressman from upstate New York.

The duo were nominated by President Donald Trump in November, confirmed 2 January and appointed 15 January.
