An Idan Ofer-connected company is suing Oilmar Shipping & Chartering and Valero over alleged unpaid bills.
Tuesday, the registered owner for an Eastern Pacific Shipping-controlled 157,781-dwt Silverway (built 2017), filed suit in Maryland federal court alleging the Emirati company owes it $1.04m, primarily for unpaid demurrage fees and heating costs.
The unpaid bills stem from a charter that began October 2018.
The suit moves to garnish Valero, as the tanker was carrying product for Valero and that Oilmar owes them money.
Oilmar did not immediately return requests for comment.
