Even as he fights litigation by his daughter aimed at removing him as head of family trusts, veteran shipowner Richard Neu has decided to part ways with his posh Los Angeles home of nearly a dozen years.

But the asking price isn’t for those with shallow pockets. Neu wants $66.65m for the Holmby Hills mansion he paid $15m for in 2006. Talk about asset play.

The 10,907-square-foot property was designed by renowned architect Paul Williams and built in 1926, according to various press accounts of the listing. There are seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms in the main house, with a tennis court and swimming pool on nearly one acre of land.

South Mapleton Drive, west of the tony Los Angeles Country Club, is one of LA’s most exclusive addresses.

Neu’s neighbors have included the late Hugh Heffner, who used a nearby home called the “Bunny Hutch” to stash “playmates” when his own Playboy mansion was full, according to Variety.

Just down the street, actor Gregory Peck’s widow sold her home to Google founder Eric Schmidt for $22m in 2013.

Neu’s mansion has been on the market since last January.

While Neu has turned operations of his General Ore over to former Teekay executive Peter Evensen as TradeWinds reports today, he has enlisted another celebrity of sorts to handle the real estate deal.

The listing agent is Marisa Zanuck, a star of cable television’s “The Real Housewives of Bevery Hills.”
