Danish shipowner Torben Ostergaard-Nielsen has received death threats over news reports linking his Dan-Bunkering to deliveries of jet fuel to Syria.
The tycoon, who also owns Uni-Tankers through his USTC Group, told local media he now has security personnel at his house.
"I have guards around my residence, I can't drive in my own cars, and I have to send text messages before I go anywhere," he told Avisen Denmark.
"I have never tried to narrow my personal freedom. at home in a legal society like Denmark for a person who is neither accused, charged nor even condemned."
Police are investigating the threats.
The company has denied supplying fuel to Syria and any breach of EU sanctions.
Ostergaard-Nielsen said: "As an owner and chairman of the board of the parent company, I have always asked: What is in that case? At the speaking moment I have not seen any evidence that our oil has ended up in Syria."
