Law group Reed Smith has appointed two new shipping partners in the UK and US.
Antonia Panayides, who becomes a partner in London, specialises in dry shipping, including charterparty disputes, bills of lading and sale-and-purchase disputes in high court and arbitration proceedings.
Jane Sarma is a maritime litigator who has been involved in nearly all the major shipping Chapter 11 cases in New York. She also has developed a sub-speciality in sanctions and other US shipping regulatory work.
Both women were previously counsel for Reed Smith.
The appointments are part of a global increase of 23 new partners across all sectors who “represent a broad cross section of our global platform and of our industry and practice groups”, says Sandy Thomas, the firm’s global managing partner.
