Law firm Reed Smith has recruited a team from White & Case (W&C) for its finance group in Paris.

The new faces comprise partner Victoria Westcott, who was head of W&C's asset finance practice in Paris, counsel Florent Rigaud, senior associate Elaine Porter and mid-level associate Abdullahi Mohammed.

Westcott has clients across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, covering shipping finance, aircraft, equipment and other large assets.

"The team’s arrival marks a significant step towards Reed Smith’s goal to deliver a seamless international finance capability to clients, who are often engaged in complex multi-jurisdictional transactions," the company said.

"Victoria’s practice ties in with that of current finance partner Fernand Arsanios, adding additional depth to an existing area of strength for our team."

Reed Smith’s Paris office has undergone significant growth over the past year, it said, including the additions of Peter Rosher to the energy practice in July, an eight-lawyer team from Winston & Strawn to the tax practice in March and a 19-strong team comprising of seven partners, one counsel, 10 associates and one jurist from King & Wood Mallesons in January 2017.
