The Maritime Group (International) has launched an Asia office in Singapore.

The London-based maritime consultancy said it has opened The Maritime Groupe (Asia) in the city-state's Shenton House in Shentonway as a subsidiary of TMG (Europe), also in London.

The two companies have already worked together on reviewing tugboat operations on the Panama Canal Authority’s new neo-panamax locks, TMG said.

The Singapore bureau is led by K. Srinivas Patnaik as managing director.

“Our commitment to first class service matches that of our counterparts in the TMG group, and we aim to play a major role in the next phase of the group’s growth,” he said.

TMG (Asia) "brings with it" Singapore-based maritime service providers Neptune Ship Management, Neptune Ship Agency and Patsloke Marine.

Patnaik is managing director and CEO of Patsloke Marine, managing director of Neptune Ship Management and director of Neptune Ship Agency, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Attempts to reach TMG were unsuccessful.

TMG (Asia) provides marine consultancy, ship management and brokerage services as well as technical and crew management.

Its services also include dry-docking, repairs management, ship inspections, valuations, surveys, ship agency services, rig management, project planning and fleet management.

The Maritime Group (International) is a subsidiary of The Maritime Group International and The Maritime Group, both based in Seattle.

The Maritime Group was first founded in 1990 by John Cox, chief executive of the Seattle-based Black Ball Ferry Line and former cruiseship captain, according to TMG's website.

He has held executive positions with Admiral Cruises, Northwest Cruise Ship Association, the Alaska Steamship Association and Western Cruise Lines.

The Maritime Group International has offices in Seattle, Honolulu, Singapore and London.

The Maritime Group (International) was set up in London in 2004 by Captain Malcolm Parrott after he retired from 26 years of service with Sea Containers, both at sea and in senior managerial and executive positions ashore.
