Two more Vietnamese yard executives have been arrested in a fraud probe.

Truong Van Tuyen, retired general director of Vinashin, and Pham Thanh Son, deputy general director of successor company SBIC, were held on Monday, accused of "abuse of power or position to appropriate property" while at Vinashin.

They allegedly abetted the misappropriation of $4.5m.

Investigators cited by VN Express said the two approved the illegal deposit of the company’s money in OceanBank, making them accomplices of former chief accountant Tran Duc Chinh, who is already in custody.

Chinh allegedly stole interest of over VND 105bn ($4.5m) that was paid in excess.

He and Vinashin's former chairman, Nguyen Ngoc Su, were earlier arrested for questioning.

Chinh was sentenced to 18 months in prison last August for a similar crime he had committed while serving as chief accountant of PetroVietnam's Vietnam Petroleum Institute.

The current case is part of the investigation into a multi-million dollar graft case at OceanBank.

Vinashin executives have been sentenced to death in the past in fraud cases.
