Equatorial Guinea LNG will shut down for maintenance for a month from mid-March.
Both the liquefaction and gas plants will be completely closed as they go through “an extensive turnaround”, said Marathon executive vice president and chief operating officer Dave Roberts.
More work needs to be done to develop gas resources and ensure the right commercial arrangements are in place to support a planned second train at EG LNG, he added.
“Our first priority has always been making sure that we keep train one full,” Roberts said.
Marathon holds a controlling 60% stake in the 3.4 million tonnes per annum EG LNG plant on Bioko Island.
