A bipartisan group of 16 state Congressmen have written to US Energy Secretary Steven Chu urging for more opportunities to export gas to international markets.“Natural gas is a great source of energy and something we are lucky to have a lot of in the US,” said Colorado Congressman Cory Gardner.“Unfortunately, the Department of Energy approval process for exporting natural gas to overseas customers has become marred by unnecessary roadblocks, and we are asking Secretary Chu to lift the red tape.”The DoE recently revealed a second delay to the publication of a report assessing how much LNG can be exported.Earlier this year a bipartisan group of 44 politicians wrote to Chu calling for a quicker approvals process for LNG export projects, which was later followed by a group of 21 federal lawmakers.
